Our trip to San Antonio!

It has been forever since I blogged and that makes me so sad because I LOVE to keep up with our memories on my blog. Life with 3 kids has proven to be even busier than I imagined but we love it so much! Nehemiah has been so extremely busy with work lately (We are beyond THANKFUL for that!) and he woke up one Friday morning and said he needed a vacation! We decided to go somewhere we could drive to in about 6 hours... because lets be real a 6 hour drive with three kids is about a 12 hour drive. LOL

Nehemiah had been to San Antonio a couple years before we met and I hadn't been since I was a kid! We enjoyed it so much, although I wouldn't call it a "vacation" with three kids! haha ANYTHING with three kids is WORK. But it was so fun to get away for a few days and have Nehemiah all to ourselves!

We headed out on Monday morning and made it to Beaumont before we had to make our first of many stops. lol We had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack because it's Nehemiah's FAVE. I loved all the red, white, and blue and had to snap a couple pictures. :)

We made it to San Antonio that afternoon and checked into our fabulous hotel, The Menger Hotel. I knew nothing about it except for the hundreds of reviews I read online, so I was nervous, because I wanted it to be as awesome as I had read.... and it was! We were literally the building next to the Alamo, next door to the mall, restaurants and shops all around us, and about a block away from the river walk. Also, we didn't have to drive ANYWHERE (except to Sea World and the Children's Museum) which is amazing with kids... loading and unloading is exhausting! Not to mention that it was GORGEOUS and full of history! I would LOVE to go back on a kid free trip and do the ghost tour and so many other things! It is the most haunted hotel in Texas, so I was nervous, but I quickly forgot about that once we checked in and it was SO gorgeous!! haha

Anyway, we checked in and went straight out the door to explore! We walked by the Alamo, which was one of my favorite things of the entire trip because one of my FAVORITE movies EVERRRR is Davy Crockett!!! (Totally buying it on DVD thanks Amazon!!) SO I was so excited to see the Alamo! Since our hotel was so close we walked by it multiple times throughout the week!! Then we walked to the river walk which is GORGEOUS but SO packed and totally not designed for strollers... haha But we made it and ate at The Rainforest Cafe because... .#kids. lol It was fun but we were SO tired and over it before our food even came. We ate and walked back by the Alamo because it's so beautiful at night all lit up! Can yall tell I'm a nerd and LOVED the Alamo?!? Another thing I want to do on a kid free trip is to tour it!!

The next morning we woke up and had breakfast and headed straight to SeaWorld!! The girls were so excited! We let them watch Free Willy before our trip, so they were so excited to see the whales! SeaWorld was fun (kind of, lol) but it was BEYOND hot! We watched the sea lion show, the girls & Nehemiah played in a splash pad, we watched the killer whales show, and then left because we were HOT & EXHAUSTED. haha

Our little tour guide.

Watching Shamu!

Relaxing after SeaWorld!

Cora & Nehemiah were napping so we took a walk!

Naptime!

The girls have been obsessed with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for a while now! They call it the candy movie! haha So we knew we had to go to a candy store! Grammy & PawPaw even sent them their own special money for the trip to the candy store! Of course the girls LOVED it. lol

Cora's gummy snake that was almost as tall as her!!
On Wednesday mornign we woke up and went to the children's museum! It was beyond amazing and I would break the internet if I posted all of the millions of pictures I took!

This little girl is all about taking pictures right now!

I'm obsessed with Foxtail Ferns and these were HUGE and gorgeous!!

Such a sweet girl! :)

Cora driving the trolley!

They could see themselves on screen and they were LOVING it.

My favorite part of the children's museum, the story time tree house! It was magical and gorgeous.

Nehemiah took these rainbow pictures and I love them!

:)

That afternoon we went back to SeaWorld to the waterpark! It was SO much fun!! I was really worried about it being super crowded, too hot, and just really hard with three young kids. But we got there and it wasn't too crowded or too hot!! It was perfect!! We were able to find beach chairs at every pool that we went to! Nehemiah just took turns holding Luke and the girls just looooooooved all the different pools, splash areas, and slides! It was perfect for them! Ella's favorite was the wave pool and Cora's was a small slide we found! I bet they went down the slide at least 30 times! They were in heaven!

Ready to swim!

Luke was such a good baby the entire trip, but especially at the waterpark! He was such a trooper!

:)

Cora's never ending bag of Cheetos, I swear she steadily pulled Cheetos out of it for 2 hours! haha

Looking at the Sting Rays when we were leaving the park!

Happy & Tired.
On Thursday morning, we woke up and headed to Gruene, Texas! One of Nehemiah's (and now mine!) favorite places! Such a cute little area with so much history and charm! Oh and not very much air conditioning... but it was worth it! haha We also ate at one of my new favorite restaurants! The Grist Mill! It overlooks the Guadalupe River and it's stunning! GO if you're ever in the area!
They were being extra loving this particular morning... they held hands all morning!

On stage at Gruene Hall! Where George Strait got his start!!

George!

Everything was pretty in Gruene!

Having ice cream at the Old General Store! SO neat!

We had a great trip! We came back with lots of fun memories and full hearts thanks to a full week of family time!
